Richard was born in Flint, Michigan in 1981. At age 7, he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive muscle-wasting disease found common in approximately 2 / 10,000 individuals.
Before his disability completely overtook his physical status, Richard found an interest in an afterschool swimming team, meeting at the pool on a regular basis -- but as time progressed, he was unable to continue for health-related reasons. Fortunately, it was not too long after that Richard discovered he had a talent for singing, and joined the local choir group for one year before dropping out to pursue other interests.
After his parents divorced in 1993, Richard moved to live with his Dad in Genesee, Michigan. During this time, he found an interest in reading popular paperbacks, including Fear Street and Goosebumps by R.L. Stine.
In 1995, Richard attended Genesse High School, and because of his strong reading skills, achieved Honors status in English and Science. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep up with the material, and had to revert to normal classes at Bendle High School two years later.
After completing High School, Richard attended Baker College in 1999, pursuing two Semesters in Accounting. He planned to change his Major to Web Design, but lost his tuition due to health reasons before the change took place.
Richard enjoys playing video games in his spare time, his favorites series include Grand Theft Auto, Need for Speed, and World of Warcraft. Alternatives to video games include Movies, Computers, and Reading.
